Audience Shares Emotional Thoughts, Revealing Director's True Intentions

The film "Kids Not Stupid 3" is set in Singapore and tells the story of a mother who quits her job to accompany her child to study there, leading to a series of loving and conflicting experiences. Many scenes evoke both laughter and tears from the audience, resonating deeply with them as if depicting their own mothers.

During the Q&A session, one audience member shared emotionally, "Seeing this film, I truly believe it has a lot of heart. It gives parents much to think about, emphasizing that relationships are more important than anything else. Academic performance is just a phase; it doesn't have to be perfect. As the theme song suggests, we're all valuable individuals, and academic success isn't everything. I hope children can grow up healthy and happy." In response, the director said, "Thank you for your thoughts. My aim in making this film was to awaken parents. When watching the film, you might identify with certain aspects, feel moved, or even shed a tear. That means you resonate with the film's message, suggesting there may be areas for improvement in your approach to education. It's a reminder to maintain positive interactions with your children."

Director Engages in Dialogue, Clarifying Film Details

As a national treasure of Singaporean cinema, Leong Kiet Eng expressed his delight at bringing "Kids Not Stupid 3" to mainland China after a 20-year hiatus, saying, "I'm thrilled my film is finally being shown here. It's a dream come true after over two decades. Thank you all, and please help us spread the word!"

In response to questions about the brief treatment of the supporting family in the film, the director explained, "To fully explore the mother's family background would require a TV series. Movies typically run around 100 minutes, but mine is already 120 minutes long. There's still so much more I'd like to tell. Maybe a 40-episode TV series could cover everything." The audience expressed enthusiasm for this idea, urging the director to consider it.

One young audience member asked about a white-haired character in the film. The director revealed, "At the beginning of the film, you might wonder why there's a scene that seems unrelated. But this scene represents cherished memories for many people in Malaysia and Singapore. The character calls himself 'Lin Bei,' which means 'old man' in Singaporean slang. For this film, I wanted to bring back some of our veteran actors to reprise their roles."

Educational Expert Makes Surprise Appearance, Audience Gifts Math Workbook

One of the highlights of the event was the surprise visit by Ouyang Weijian, an expert in Chinese family education with 38 years of experience. He praised the film, saying, "This movie is fantastic. It beautifully captures the impact of peer and parent-child relationships on a child's development. It's a powerful educational film that encourages reflection on parenting methods."

During the event, a passionate young fan presented actor Rong Qihang, who plays Mr. Li in the film, with a copy of "Three Years of Practice for Five Years of Exams," a popular study guide among Chinese students. The fan wanted the charming math teacher to try his hand at solving Chinese high school math problems. Rong Qihang promised to take on the challenge, which amused the audience greatly.

"Kids Not Stupid 3" has been warmly received as a family-friendly summer film. With its sensitive direction, humorous elements, touching emotional expressions, and realistic character portrayals, the film continues to receive rave reviews from audiences.
